Eric Mahoro has served over 10 years as a Civil Society both as a dedicated activist and a specialist in the areas of Promotion of human rights with a focus on Human Rights Education, Governance, Peace Education, Healing, and Social Justice. Throughout his work, Eric took leadership on a number of researches in the aforementioned areas looking at both Rwanda and the Great Lakes Region. During his career, Eric has co-initiated different programs aiming at Peace Education, Youth Empowerment, Advocacy, and Participatory Governance. He has worked as a citizen-voice oriented radio show producer and a teacher-trainer for 3 years. Eric led over 5 youth regional and international exchange programs in different countries on human rights, regional integration, pan Africanism, and peacebuilding. Between April 2014 and April 2017, Eric served the Rwanda Civil Society Platform (an umbrella coalition of the CSOs in Rwanda) as the Secretary-General. He is an alumnus of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) of the United States department of state in 2014 and a Mandela Washington Fellow 2016 in the Young African Leadership Program (YALI) from the Presidential Precinct with the University of Virginia and the College of William and Mary (USA). Currently, Eric serves as the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer for Never Again Rwanda where he also co-facilitates the Peace-Building Institute. Eric Mahoro holds a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Literature with Education.
